Brian Aldiss, the most prominent British editor of anthologies, began with three small paperback volumes for Penguin Books, Penguin Science Fiction (1961), More Penguin Science Fiction (1963), and Yet More Penguin Science Fiction (1964), that were subsequently gathered into an Omnibus in 1973, the same year that Aldiss published in influential Billion Year Spree: The True History of Science Fiction. Aldiss substantially revised the Omnibus in 2007, dropping 15 stories from the earlier book and adding 10, including long stories by Chiang and Crowley.
Also gathered here are several theme anthologies, mostly of traditional SF and space opera. Three best-of-decade anthologies done with Harry Harrison are compiled on the Best of Decades page; one is in the photo.
Except for the two Penguin Omnibuses, the photo shows US paperback and book club reprints.
Most reprinted authors: Isaac Asimov (7); Arthur C. Clarke and A.E. van Vogt (5 each); Walter M. Miller, Jr., Robert Sheckley, and Clifford D. Simak (4 each).
