The Eugie Award honors stories that "inspire, enlighten, and entertain." They are named in honor of the author Eugie Foster, who died in 2014.

Nominations are made by a panel of editors, reviewers, and select readers; the winner is chosen by a jury. Lists of nominators and judges are given on the award's website.
