Horton: Year's Best <— Anthologies —> Silverberg: Alpha and Others
Neil Clarke, co-founder and now editor-in-chief of online magazine Clarkesworld, launched his annual series in 2016 for Night Shade Books (which had published Strahan's series until four years earlier). Another large trade paperback series, Clarke's contents are nominally limited to science fiction (in contrast to Strahan and Horton) and his introductions explore the business aspects of publishing as well as highlighting exceptional works and new writers of each year.
